The Georgian cuisine is as ancient as the Georgian people itself. As you know, Georgia is a very small country, however, the Georgians have created a wide range of various meals. This accounts for the fact that there are numerous recipes of cooking one and the same dish in different corners of Georgia - in Kakheti, Imereti, Pshav-Khevsureti, Guria, Samegrelo, Ratcha, Svaneti, Adjara, Samtskhe-Javakheti, and others. This is exactly what makes the Georgian table so interesting, tasty and diversified!
It is widely known that the more attention you pay to right nourishment and the more reasonable is your diet, the healthier you are and the better you feel! Don't you think it is the Georgian dishes that have caused lots of Georgians to live over a hundred?
Trust us - if you use our recipes even occasionally, you will make your table richer and your everyday life more exciting!
If you have ever been to Georgia, you are sure to have loved the Georgian cuisine and you do remember it. Who knows, maybe you would miss it among lots of other reminiscences, and it would be good to know that you do not need to cover thousands of kilometres to feel the taste of the Georgian food again! Sure, this brochure does not claim to familiarize you with the fantastically rich and diversified Georgian cuisine! We would just like to ensure you that some of the dishes you tasted in a hospitable Georgian family, in restaurant or a tavern while in Georgia you could cook yourself and enjoy together with your family and guests! Let us agree from the very beginning: a delicious dinner needs high-quality products. Cheap products make cheap dinners!
It is also noteworthy that some of the dishes were not originally Georgian, but complemented well to the traditional Georgian cuisine, and became a part of the Georgian table. So we believe it will be a right thing to include them into this brochure together with other Georgian dishes.
We also want to thank people whose recipes we have used for our book - N. Khoperia, T. Sulakvelidze, T. Lomadze, K. Bakradze and various authors of recipes published in different newspapers and magazines. In their turn, they used recommendations that the Georgians have produced over centuries, and gave them a new life.
